USB 2.0 without Service pack 1

I have corporated computers and am not allowed to install WINDOWS XP Service pack 1, but I have IBM NetVista computers and need to use USB 2.0. Can Microsoft allow install USB 2.0 drivers without installing all Service pack? Can some one help?

I don't think it will work. Do you have a disk with drivers on it? If not, I would request permision to install serivce pack 1, also, that has ALOT of security fixes.

First off, Does your computers support usb 2.0? If not then you are stuck with usb 1. Your motherboard must support the usb2.0 or you have to ad a pci card that will support the usb2.0 and that should have came with the drivers that u needed

You can find USB2 drivers on the internet, but unless u have usb2 hardware, there's no point in installing it. And if u have usb2 hardware, then u should have usb2 drivers on ur mobo disk.

Install a USB 2.0 PCI Controller card. I'm running one with two ports on my older computer and it works great. Using it to run a USB 2.0 HD Enclosure. You do not need SP1.

Thanks - Computer is IBM Netvista 8307 model, they have USB 2.0 support, and I found original Intel drivers on internet for Intel USB adapter (inbuild, not PCI card, of course). That's meen, that ll is working for now :-)
