Comment: I've recently installed Linux (mandrake), and after installing it, linux removed windows entry from MBR. I tried to use a DOS startup disk to get to c:\ (and worked). But How do I go to Windows Xp from dos? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Or, are there any more methods to get to windows?

Reply: (edit) Ok...so ur Linux Bootup manager messed ur MBR.
To recover ur MBR: From the prompt just type: 'fdisk /mbr' with no quote and there is a space between fdisk and /mbr. When it suceed, then u can try to install the Linux bootmanager once again or just boot through floppy

Reply: (edit)Mandrake normally makes a backup of the Windows MBR during the install in case you ant to restore it. Or you can use the XP Recovery Console if you have an XP cd to fix it: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm
