URgent please help me this is serious

Hey guys i have my two xp machines networked by a linksys router and yesterday i had my routers configuration page up and i left it on adn went upstairs and when i came back my internet does not work on both computers my brother was down here and he said he changed it so instead of automatically having teh default ip adress he changed it to a static ip, he said he didnt know what it was and was messing around. i tried hitting teh reset button on my router , didnt work, and try to system restore that dint work, and i cant get back to my routers configuraton because the ip i ususaly would type into ie6 doesnt work because he changed it to a static ip

Hold the router's reset button in for about 5 seconds. That should reset the router to factory defaults. Then access the router like you did the very first time. Remember that the password will have been reset to the default password as well.

From your browser
Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings>make sure the box that says Automatically Detect Settings is checked

Hey JOe you should be able to go the command prompt of one of your machines. Get the ip address by typing ipconfig. This will show you your ip, your gateway, and the subnet mask your on. What you need is the gateway address, this is the address of your linksys router. From here just go to your browser and type in that gateway address. For connection assurance try pinging that gateway address with in the cmd prompt and make sure your getting a reply but you should if you are able to browse the internet!
