Here's an interesting one.

I was helping someone on a post yesterday and he mentioned that he changed the extention on all of his divx encoded video files to ".divx". I tried this to one of my avi files (just to check it out)...it worked but I didn't see the point, so I changed it back to .avi. Now when I play that file in DivX player, it plays upside-down. It's the weirdest thing. It plays fine in WMP and other viewers and it's only this file that it does this with.

It's not an important file and I don't care more than I'm curious.

Anyone have any solutions or input?

SullyD

p.s. I can't turn my monitor upside-down...it's a flat screen and I don't like standing on my head :)

LOL..hey Sully... nice prob... :D

The reason for the upside down Video is, the DivX codec is not latest. Just download the latest version of DivX form www.Divx.com...(with Player)....andn then play the same video...It will be Fine.

Rochak,

I'm usually hesitant about updating software that works fine (too many times it kicked me an the arss). But I did it anyway...updated to DivX 5.11. Everything seems fine and it's a nice new interface... but it didn't fix my upside-down problem. Nice try.

So, are you stumped? I am.

Sabertooth,

I'm all out of my migraine meds, so I stood on the other side of the room and looked through a magnifying glass which I held at arms length. This re-inverted the image for me. Of course, this creates a problem when more than one person wants to watch. LOL

SullyD ...

I don't know if this is the same problem that I have seen in Win XP/2000, but sometimes when the screen image appears in the wrong position (I've seen it go sideways), you can fix it by doing a
Ctrl-Alt-UpArrow. It's worth a try.
