upload is slow but download is great

i have a p4 2.0 running xp and a p3 450 xp cabled to a linksys fast ethernet 10/100 model fensk05....(running comcast cable) both computers download at 200 kps but upload i cant get more then 15kps...even between computers i only get 15kps tops. Ive tried moving the cables that plug in the linksys to different ports but no change any ideas would help...thanks

have you tried connecting one computer directly to the modem to see if it still happens or not.... also there is a speed patch that you can get from www.speedguide.net that may help. under patches. install and then reboot. if its still slow it may be a problem on the cable plant...

Try killing the xp firewall.Also if the NIC's are set at 100, drop them to 10 and try it(yes I know it sounds foolish but it works). Jimi_l

If you're getting the bad uploads on your network, doesn't sound like an isp problem. Definitely try the speed tweaks. Look for a program called TweakXP, I believe it comes w/ 50 free tweaks, there's some network/internet stuff on it. Also, could be a cabling problem (doubtful though if download is fine). You may check the settings on the Linksys router to make sure the upload bandwidth isn't somehow capped at 15 kbps.
