Hi Kevin, Sabertooth, rocky balboa and all the rest, Last night i posted a question about the best way to get data from 2 win98 10 gig hard drives into 2 new comps with winXP and 80n gig hdd. The responses were very helpfull, but i had one more question... Wouldn't win98 attempt to boot up and conflict with the XP boot if i move the drives without first "removing" win98 (i use quotes because i dont know how else to say it :) If this is the case, is there a way to uninstall an OS but leave the data intact? Also, would NTFS and FAT32 get into a great big fight or would they play nice together?
Or would placing the old drives in the SLAVE position eliminate this problem? Or am i completely oblivious and a stupid git. (probably that last one...) Thanks again guys, Ed

Xp will give you the choice for which OS you want to boot on and FAT32 can't see NTFS but NTFS can see FAT32. That means : on XP you can see what's on win98 but on win98 you won't be able to read NTFS that's on XP.
Hope this helps.

98 will not attempt to boot if it is slave. you can transfer them over from 98 to XP buy just clicking and dragging from one HD to the other. Hope this helps.
