What's a max replacement CPU upgrade for my Compaq Presario 700 CM2130? Also I would like to install the max RAM and Hard Drive. This old computer is in perfect condition, and I keep it in the garage to look up information as I am working on things.
The computer is now running mobile AMD Athlon (tm) 4 1500+
1.29 GHz
240 MB of RAM

You need more RAM. WInXP requires at least 512MB. I wouldn't recommend spending any cash upgrading the CPU even if you could.

Use that laptop to log onto the site and use their online tools to determine if you can upgrade the RAM.

You could get an external hard drive to use for more storage space if needed. Most run off a USB port.

Sounds like a good idea. It's good old computer and not worth anything but to me, so I'll be looking into your suggestion right away. Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions.
