upgrade BIOS without using flash?

is there a way to upgrade your BIOS without using flash rom? I tried using the flash but it doesn't work, said it doesn't support it.

It depends on the manufacturer of your mainboard and what bios they are using. Although most of todays pc's have some version of a flash bios, there still may be some around that use a simple ROM Bios chip.You will need to provide more specific information about your mainboard. Manufacturer? Revision? Bios Version? etc. Most pc manufacturers can provide you with the information you need. In some circumstances, you can purchase a new bios chip from the manufacturer if available. Why is it necessary to upgrade your bios? Any additional information will be helpful. Good Luck.
