Hi, recently my ATI radeon 9800 pro died, and I am being sent a replacement card. But in the meantime, i enabled onboard so i dont see distortion.

I am using this onboard card:
Intel 82865G Graphics Controller

Ok, the higest it allowes me to go is 256 colors, and *768 resolution, when it really does go higher, but i cant set it higher. it doesnt have the drivers installed, when ive tired updating them, and it always sayins error, and its never compadable with windows screen. id like to use 32 bit color so i can play games and make fun of how slow it is.

ive gotten the drivers off the dell cd and i also tried the intel site and all of them dont install, and it says error during install for unknown reason.

Intel P4 - 2.6Ghz HT
1.5GB DDR RAM 400mhz
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB DDR
120GB ATA 7200HD
Sound Blaster X-Fi

Dark29delx, SWAG, do you still have the old unused drivers on your machine? Perhaps they don't like each other? Maybe put the old on some sort of removable media for easy retrieval and get them off?

Regarding what Ed in Texas has said, here's a driver cleaner that will get rid of the remnants of Ati drivers. It's freeware as well...

"An unknown error occured while installing
Setup will exit."

It says this in the middle of the install.
