When attempting to run windows updates; I find that I can download the update and find it in the WUTEMP folder. Unfortunatly the updates will not install! I keep getting this message, "Updates Were Not Installed". I have been looking through ton's of stuff and as of yet been able to get these updates to run. Help! Thanks Gregg

The fix usually is to delete the content of the Windows\System32\catroot2 folder:
Look at this page as well.
v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot

the symptom can occur if the hotfix installer was referencing
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2\edb.log and the file was corrupt. Either renaming C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2\edb.log or renaming the entire
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2 folder will allow the hotfix install to complete
normally.

That doesn't work either! Just disable Auto Update!
