Hi,
I recently installed several Windows updates (about 12) because I'd been slacking on doing so. However, I now can't use my program, called Pokertracker, to import files (online poker tournament summaries) from my e-mail address at gmail into the program. I get this error message:'The operation was canceled by the user. Account: 'geoteacherryan@gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC17'
(I realize that most of that won't help you, as it's program specific but maybe there's something in there that sheds light on some information).
I had never had this problem before - the program had always worked just fine. I have tried to contact the maker of the program but he can not figure out what is wrong. Which windows update is preventing me from using POP? And how can I fix this or get rid of that update?
The only other thing I have done is recently I updated my Spybot: Search and Destroy, which I hadn't done in about a year, and I did a scan and immunized. I doubt this is the problem but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Any help with this frustrating problem would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you!
Ryan Hall

I think I figured it out. I uninstalled the patch for Outlook Express and rebooted and now it works.
