Just had to reinstall XP on my new hard drive - the thing is, it installed on the first hard drive but named it drive H for some reason! This i couldnt change so i installed again. The thing is, I know I installed the update patch to prevent the BLASTER virus (WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe) once, but cant remember whether i did this when it was on drive H or when I reinstalled and it was on C. Any way of checking whether its installed, or would it harm the system to install it if it *is* already installed?

Cheers!

Alex

Moin Alex,
installing the patch will automatically create an uninstall information directory in your windows system directory named $NtUninstallKB823980$ (compressed). So look for that folder and you will know whether it is installed or not.
