Hello Helpful Forum Members-- I just got the December patches from Microsoft; however, under "Hardware Updates" I saw that an update is available for my SiS 760 Video (card?) -I've heard horror stories about messing with firmware, and I've also heard that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." My video display works fine as it is--so I guess I'm asking, could I possibly damage anything by downloading the Update?

I suggest you should read the documentation (KB article) about the update before you install it. The update may either lend new functionality or eliminate a probable conflict.
Moreover, I do not agree with you on "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude because you may never know the new horizons before you if you do take on the above attitude as your way of life.
What this all boils down to is, if you do not know or attempt to learn the good, you may think of the bad as good.
Regards
suatcini

You should never ever download hardware updates from M$ other than HP. Unauthorized drivers update may void your warranty.
