CPU/Ram: P4,1.6GHZ,MMT,INT,SND

I have a Dell 4400 I have windows XP I don't know exactly what else I am suppose to know to give you information. I could just be idleing and when I return to my computer there are grey boxes with popups and on under neath the other maybe 1-3 at a time. How do I stop them

Try this;

1.Right-click My Computer icon and
select "Manage"
2.Open Services and Applications
3.Open Services
4.Open Messenger Service
5.Click Stop button
6.Change "Startup Type" to DISABLE
7.Click OK to close everything

The kid but i think that it has nothing to do with his problem,u mean Messenger he mean pop ups
