Hello Everyone, My computer xp os has been automatically undated and now contains the following: program files\windows controlad\winctlad.exe and program files\windows serverad\winserad.exe they load up when my computer is booted up. I want to remove them as they serve no purpose and seems to slow up my start-up. One is access denied and the other can be deleted, only to appear again on bootup. These just appeared so they came with the last update. I would like to remove them, does anyone have any suggestion as to how I can delete them, on startup, I have very few file to activate to speed up load up, i thank you in advance for any suggestion you may have, frank

Those exe files are part of WindUpdates Adaware. Use spybot or adaware or something similar to remove it.

You have been hit by adware.
Go to www.lavasoftusa.com, download and install Ad-Aware. Run the update in Ad-Aware, then reboot into Safe Mode and run a full system scan. You have to boot into Safe Mode or some items will not be removed and/or repaired.
You may not have time to search the Internet for your answer. Well, sorry, I may not either.
