Hi everyone. I need help urgently! My computer has been taken over by a dialer I did not ask for. Whatever measures I take it sticks. I have used Webroot Spysweeper and it identified this bugger so I deleted it... or so I thought! I used Spybot and Spyblaster but when I open my internet connection tab it has replaced my username and password! As I sit here I have no idea whether it's not dialing! It's an 09 number. Please help me to get rid of the thing! Dawie

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Download, install and run HijackThis. Post a log file in window and let it analyze the file. Delete the suggested sections and reboot. If you still experience problems, post on their site for extra help.

When your OS is clean install Spyware Blaster and keep it up to date.

Use <Start> - <Run...> msconfig <enter>

With this program you can temporary disable programs (Autostart) during startup. The Dialer is probably installing itself from here at startup.

When the problem has been detected and deleted you can later on enable the okay programs.

Thanx for the advice. I have used Hijack This and cleared out most of the rubbish. I have also disabled most of the items using MsConfig and so far, touch wood, it seems to be doing ok. Regards Dawie
