Hey guys,

When the system boots up I get to a screen that asking me to select an opertating sysetm Between XP-PRO and WINDOWS,(sort of like a dual boot) but here is the catch... I did not set up the system for a dual boot. Plus when I select the WINDOWS option, It does nothing.

How do I just get rid of the WINDOWS option???

You will need to midfy your boot file record.

Click on start.
Select Control Pannel
Select System
Click on the Adnace tab
Click on the Settings tab in the start up and recovery box.
Click on the edit tab in the system start up box.

A note pad like file will open up. Be very carefull what you do here......

To get XP to boot on its own it should look something like this...

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

If there are other lines in there refering to another system remove it....

The line above starting with the word multi and everyhting after that must be in one line and not broken to the second line as it appears in the post.....You will see this when you open the file..

Hope that helps

Open My Computer and select Properties, select Advanced, select Startup and Recovery and you will see the default operating system, then select XP fast, etc.
