unshadowing desktop icons part 2

Specs: Windows XP
Go to...
My Computer properties
Advanced tab
Performance
Visual Effects
Check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop"

If you have locked the desktop icons, you need to unlock them, and then change the visual effects setting.

i already follow all the step by Krystyna but my desktop icon still remain the same...it seems like the shadows wont remove..please help me

vockaltopaz, Also right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Desktop tab click the Customize Desktop button, under the Web tab uncheck ALL items, click OK/Apply/OK.

Also right click your Desktop, choose Arrange icons by and make sure that Lock web items on desktop is unchecked.
