unremovable desktop icons

Can not delete or remove desktop icons such as Bingo, Casino, Travel etc. Can not find them anywhere in the directories. They seems to be active web items. But unremovable.

I had the same problem and was pointed towards this free download from another forum. Worked perfectly for me. Programme is called Omegakillersmv1.2 It stopped homepage hijack and removed toolbars and unwanted favourite places in IE. Hope it works for you. http://www.short-media.com/download.php?dc=69
