unmountable volume error

Specs: Windows XP
cannot boot from cd. cannot get into safe mode
or do recovery. cannot enter any mode on my
friends pc to repair blue screen error.cannot load
best configuration. everything ive tried ends the
same way. failure. ggrrr help please.
