unlocking my own private files

ok on my normal computer i had choosen to keep my folders private to others on my home network. Now that, that computer is fried, i have hooked up my harddrive to another comp in order to access my files. Since i have locked my "my documents" folder, how can i access files within it when installed on another computer using a different user account. all i get is an "access denied" message. please help, i need my files!!

hi BurtonPerson. I have the same problem as you are. My computer couldn't even boot into the safe mode. I have just found a program name "Advanced EFS Data Recovery 3", which claims that it can do it, but so far I still couldn't get back my favorites folder. If your computer still can boot into the Safe Mode, then problem is very simple to solve. Let me know if you can recover your

Create an account on your machine with the same username and password as you had on the old computer. Log on and try to access the files. Not sure it will work, though...
