unknown program trying to access interne

Zonealarm is suddenly giving me an alert that a program is trying to access the internet everytime I try to open IE. I can't load up any pages without granting access to this program. But this program has no details.
I had the idea of permanently denying access to the program so I could see what new program has an X next to it in the ZA program list (those of you that have ZA will know what I'm on about) but nothing new came up. Now strangely, I have another 'no name' program needing to access the internet before I can use IE.
I was thinking virus, but virus scans with the latest McAfee show a clean system. Maybe I have to check boot sectors or something.

Use the above address to download ADAWARE. It will most probably find the culprit and help you get rid of it.From its suspicious sounding nature I would guess it ad/spyware that was installed on your system.

Cheers for that Jimi. I took your advise and used Ad-Aware. I did indeed have spyware on my system (Cydoor and Alexis), but unfortunately, on restarting my computer, I still had (what I think is) the same unknown program needing access to the internet before I can start IE.
I will try Jim's suggestion and take a pop with Trojan Hunter.
But like I said, thanks for the advise. I'd be f****d without people like you guys.

Don't know if you guys are still reading this thread, but Trojan hunter gave me what I needed after Ad-aware had got rid of the spyware. It was a program in a temp directory called checkeve.dll (or something like that). Deleted it. Problem solved.
