In Windows HELP, click Index, then type
dmp files
Then click 'Display' button. That will give information about dump files, like so called minidump.
All that is rather useless because the data in dump files is for Advanced Users -------------------------- How to Gather Information After a Memory Dump in Windows XP
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d... In that article it says Microsoft® Office XP and Windows® XP create minidump files for the purpose of analyzing failures on customers' computers.
It is used by technical people to find causes of problems.
