First make sure it's not IE6 itself trying to dialup - Tools/Internet Options/Connections tab, tick 'Never Dial A Connection'.

If it's not that, and u suspect some kind of malware, have a look in Services (right-click My Computer/Manage/Services) and check for any suspicious entries, as apps can be set to run as a service which won't show in msconfig.

If still no go, try ZoneAlarm, this should tell u the miscreant.......

GoodLuck

Just a wild guess: but I had a similar 100% usage type experience from Nokia cell phone software trying to connect to my cell continuously.

Check to make sure that none of your programs are set to automatically update - such as windows update, virus programs, etc. If they are set to automatic update they will keep trying to dial up even if "do not diala connection" is checked off.

what do u use to connect to the internet?
if u use a dial up modem & u tick 'never diual a connection' that is exactly what will happen it won't connect
u should have 'dial my default connection' ticked
if u have ADSL or cable then u tick never dial a connectiom
