I have three partition; primary (C:, system) for OS and two (D: and E:) extended for data. I tried to clean install XP but I guess I may have missed something and the OS was installed on the D: drive. So I ask how to properly uninstall/remove it? Also, everytime I start or restart my PC, I'm prompted to choose which OS (all XP) to boot. And I ask how get rid of this screen.
Another thing. Since I could now boot XP from D:, is it possible to format C: from it? So then I could clean install XP on it [the C: drive]?
Thanks!

If there's no data to save, wipe the whole thing and start with *ONE* FAT32 partition.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Because the MBR (Master Boot Record) is currently resident on C: & it is also the partition currently set active, you have to go about this carefully.
If you are positive, there is nothing you need on the C: and won't mind wiping it, post back and let us know.

When you insert the Win XP cd to do the installation, make sure that you select to install on C: drive. You do not need to format it beforehand, because setup will prompt to format the drive.
Install Win XP on C: drive, and when it is done, boot into C: drive.
*Assume that you are done installing all device drivers on Win XP in D drive.
Win XP in C: drive will need to have device drivers installed. Instead of re-downloading all drivers again, point update drivers to D: drive so that it can look for the drivers.
When all is done, you can format D: drive from My computer. Right click D: and select format. Reboot your computer. If you still see the OS selection menu, boot into Windows XP. Click on start run and type msconfig. Click "Check Boot Path". It will tell you if there are partition that is no longer active and if you want to remove it. Select yes to remove and restart. That should eliminate the OS boot menu

If you don't want to format d:. Delete the following folders to get rid of XP on it.
d:\windows
d:\program files
d:\documents and settingsThen do a clean install on c:
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
