I just uninstalled xp professional, and am back to 98se. When I turn on the machine, I still get the annoying prompt asking me to choose which operating system I want to use....XP or 98se...How do I remove this prompt from my computer? Thanks.

There's someone who knows what he's doing... uninstalling Windows XP. Sorry, I really hate Mikeysoft's futile attempt at making an OS like Mac OS X. It sucks and it seems like they're releasing a new Windows every year now, and everytime apparently better than before, and everytime it's s---tier than the previous. Anyways, on with helping you... Okay, are you using some dual boot managing software of some sort? Boot off a DOS bootdisk and check out BOOT.INI under your boot drive (usually C:) what does it say?

I fixed the problem using a bootable disk for win98. Then typed in "sys c:" at the "a" prompt. After rebooting the problem was fixed. Thanks.
