Specs: Windows xp
I want to uninstall windows xp from my computer because windows does not support it anymore. so I can install widows 7

Yes! you cannot uninstall it but you can format it using windows 7 cd!
set up the cd-rom(windows 7 cd) to first booting device and hard disk to second booting device.
Format the c: and install windows 7 to it!

Windows 7 drivers might be a tad problematic:

but it may be possible to sort it out.

Also, what size hard drive is in yours? Some of those only had a 60 gig.

You could continue to run XP on it. Install another anti-virus util. (one of the freebies); use Firefox as your browser. Regularly scan it wiith a couple or three (freebie) malware cleaners.

If there aren't necessary drivers for win-7 for that model Inspiron (I haven't checked!) you could also install Linux; possibly even dual boot XP and Linux?
