I am trying to uninstall McAfee Virus Protection and Spam killer, along with the McAfee Security Center, in that order. (Security Center will not uninstall until the virus protection and spam killer are uninstalled first.) I am using Control Panel Add/Remove Programs as recommended by the McAfee website. When I uninstall the virus protection, my internet connection stops connecting. No matter what I do I cannot get it to reconnect. (I am able to go back to the installed condition with a saved Drive Image (Powerquest)). Any ideas why this is doing this? I want to install a new virus protection program but it won?t let me until the McAfee software is uninstalled. ekseks

Maybe this will work also, even though it is another McAfee product: Windows XP: TCP/IP Functionality and Internet Connectivity Are Disrupted When You Uninstall McAfee Personal Firewall http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316522 Note how it says not to use ADD/Remove Programs to uninstall it.

Check their website, they should have detailed uninstall instructions including the necessary registry deletions.
