We need more information. What is the make and model number of your computer? How are you wanting to re-install XP, with a Windows disk or with a manufacturers restore disk? Or has your XP a restore partition? Whichever way, it is not necessary to uninstall SP2 first.

If you are using a Windows XP disk then ensure your disk drive is ahead of the HD in BIOS, then just start the computer with the disk in the drive.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Before you "re-install"... ensure "all" your data (personal files, photos etc.) are safely duplicated elsewhere off the hard drive completely. Typically to dvd (and/or an external hard drive too...?).

But perhaps the problems you may be having can be resolved without recourse to a re-install? As per Derek more info might be useful to help and might avoid a re-install process?

"Original Op.Sys. is XP_Pro"

Do you mean the disc you plan on using is the very 1st release of XP Pro with no service packs? But the system is currently running XP Pro w/SP2? If that's the case, you will have to completely wipe the drive & start from scratch. As stated above, make sure to back up all your important documents 1st. And be aware that some programs require that SP1, SP2, or SP3 be installed, so check the software requirements before doing anything else.
