Can anyone tell me if I can uninstall programs while in safe mode, having problems booting normally and want to remove recently installed software. Do I have to log on as administrator. Thanks benito

Yes, I believe you can uninstall from safemode. As far as admin log in I don't really know.
The dumbest question is the one not asked

The naswer is yes you do.
When booting in safe mode, always try and start with networking support if you have a high speed internet connection.
Otherwise just select safe mode start up and log in as the administrator, otherwise you will not be able to remove the program.

How to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP To help troubleshoot error messages or other issues when you cannot determine the cause of the issue, disable common startup programs, settings, and drivers to eliminate possible software conflicts when you start Microsoft Windows XP. This procedure is known as "clean booting." (Can be done by way of Windows Safe-Mode, logon as Admistrator, but where it says RESTART, restart into normal Windows.) How to perform advanced clean-boot troubleshooting in Windows XP and that one is a heavy duty article.
