Hi everyone...My install of SP-2 is running fantastic; absolutely no problems at all.
I did a little cleaning up today, and I used the "more options" of disk cleanup for the first time today. I removed all but the last system restore point.... no problems at all.
I have a question about the SP-2 uninstall files. I did a search for them and cannot seem to find them, so I was wondering if I deleted them while getting rid of older restore points.
I am hoping that I did, as I am most happy with SP-2 and was going to delete those files anyway.
Thanks very much! Solarian, if you read this... we got 5 inches of snow overnight here in central Mass.; the thoughts of the beach are out till next year! Take care..

For the location of SP2's uninstall files, see SudsTheatre's post today regarding Removing Backup Files.

Keep warm up there. 8-)

PS Thanks for the tip on the registry cleaner over in the Security & Virus Forum.

Hi guys- Been having showers today. Sun just came out and I have a roadrunner standing about 10 feet from me with his feathers ruffled trying to soak up some sun. 40's at night and 70's day. Enjoy the snow Tommyo.

Please post back within 24 hours or I will delete the post from my follow up list. Thanks. It would be a courtesy if you would post back and let us know if the fix worked or not.

Thanks!! Oh, how I love snow, LOL! Definitely no roadrunners up here in Mass. per, but we've got quite an assortment of wildlife though. Has recently been reported sightings of mountain lion and/or cougars which is a tad rare here.
No pink flamingo's, neither!

Thanks Solarian for that link; I will browse over that now. So far, I am quite pleased with this SP-2. I think I was a bit paranoid earlier for nothing. I guess if one does their prep work before the install, all should go well. I never thought I'd care for this pop-up blocker, but I must say it works great.
Luckily, my Zone Alarm version 4.5 is recognized by the Security Center too which is great because that version is a workhorse and performs superb.

Take care guys, stay warm! Enjoy your Sunday.

Hey per:

That CA WX sounds good. After the the dog days of summer, and 4 hurricanes this year, I'm ready for some mild days and cool nights. 8-)

Move to San Diego like everyone else. LOL!! That is if you can afford a $500,000 house that is 1500 sq. feet on a 75x75 foot lot. It's out of control here.

They say that most Californians can handle earthquakes, but are scared of hurricanes; and that most Floridians can handle hurricanes, but are scared of earthquakes.

I'll stay in FL and admit it: Earthquakes spook the hell out of me. 8-)

Foot massage--good one!

BTW, finally picked up that wireless Logitech mouse from Overstock.com for $21.99 plus shipping (usual price $39.99). It's great.

Also, after years of using McAfee antivirus with good results (Norton always slowed down my PC), I just installed the free trial of Nod32 antivirus. It's a couple of bucks more than McAfee, but Nod32's received such excellent reviews in the trades, I had to give it a shot. Hauri also got good reviews, but has a big footprint (almost 20MB).

Been using the wireless logitech mouse and board for 3 years and very happy with them. As to the A/V , been using Norton systemworks for at least 5 years with no problem except one machine won't work right with SP2 so removed SP2. NAV and ghost are more important than SP2. McAfee, I have had nothing but problems. Talk about a registry intensive program, McAfee beats them all. Rgds.

Roger on the registry. When I uninstalled McAfee AV, I went back with a registry cleaner and it found/deleted 89 orphaned McAfee keys. 8-)

There are many more than that. I would Search the registry for mcafee and what ever else it may have installed. I would guess there at least 200 more entry's in there. If you want a good registry cleaner take a look at registry first aid from roseware.com. I was very impressed and bought it. About $20. It found over 500 entries on the first pass with no bad effects.

Ironically, Registry First Aid is what I used to clean up after McAfee. I just re-cleaned with jv16 Power Tools (payware version, my preference) and RegSupreme and they found nothing else.

You might be thinking of the boxed version of MCAfee AV; I was using McAfee VirusScan Online which has a smaller footprint.
