hi if i would like to uninstal "windows picture and fax viewer" what would i have to do?

Uninstall it? I don't know.
However, if the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is set as the default for many of your graphic file types, you can remove it so other graphics programs can be used.
1. Run Regedit 2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers 3. Delete the key ShellImagePreview

or even easier: Click "Start", click "Run", and type this:- regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dl Then click "OK".

sorry, its: regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll and to enable it again just take out the u.

it's not such a good idea to unregister shimgvw.dll, because then you cannot see the thumbnail images of your photos. moh's advice above is good, by deleting the reg key one gets rid of the annoying context menu entries on pictures
