I am trying to use the the "unerase wizard" in a Norton protected recycle bin. I am getting an error: CRITICAL MESSAGE - "Unexpected values found in recycle bin data file" when I clear the message box, there are no files found in the recycle bin. However, if i click on the "empty protected files" it says there areover 300 protected files. Has anyone else ever had this error? Do we know where the "recycle bin data file" is stored? PLease reply via email if possible. -- Thanks

Mine works flawlessly, may be one or more of the norton protected files are corrupt or located in a bad sector on your harddrive.
I think norton only marks the so called "protected files" whereever they are located as opposed to moving them to a specific folder but I may be wrong. You can find the stuff in your recycle bin in C:\recycled and or recycler.
Run chkdsk /r on your drive and see if it helps and if it doesn't you may have to bite the bullet and delete the protected files altogether.
