uncommanded microsoft front page load attempt

December 19, 2011 at 10:27:51
Specs: Windows XP
On certain, not all, web sites the computer attempts to load microsoft front page. Front page is not on the computer, but it tries to load and then wants me to put in a disc. Hitting escape gets rid of it for that instance only. How do I get the computer NOT to try to load front page?

windows xp professional - all current updates installed
browser is IE 8
Default html editor set to notepad.exe
WWW.MARKETWATCH.COM is one site where this always happens

You could try one or both of these options:

You want the Office Resource Kit Tools
it contains a wizard that might help.

or you could try

This page is for 2010, but has links to 2007 & 2003

Sounds like something didn't get fully uninstalled.
