Subject: unattend install installs to D not
OS: Currently Win XP Pro
CPU/Ram: 700 ,Athelon 384
Comment:

384 mg ram (3 128 pc 100)
pc chips mobo
700 athelon
promise 66 ultra ide PCI
SB Live! PCI
ATI All in wonder pro 64 7500 AGP
sis onboard Lan
C-Media onboard sound
iomega zip cd burner 12x
standard 56x cd reader
full tower case

I can't get unattended install to install to the C drive,, it chooses the D drive instead.
All three drives are western digital
c: 12 gig fat32
d: 6 gig fat32
e: 120 gig (Run from Promise) ntfs

Right before I boot from CD,, I fdisk both C and D,
Reboot,, then reformat C and D
Then reboot again, and let the CD take over.

Every try either no path correct,, or does everything right,, but installs to the D drive.
I can go in dos to both C and D drive formatted to fat32
e is formatted to ntfs

I have no friggin clue as to why it picks D over C
here is a copy of the winnt.sif I am using. the XX have been changed from original values

I have been through ref.chm
and the setupmgr, but the setup keeps going to D.
The CD Drives are f and g
and the standard startup disk is a win98 boot disk. the winnt.sif has been added back the the CD in the I386 folder for a totally hands free install.

Please help

Try this. in the autopartition change it to 0.

this will make you select the partition to install to while the rest will be unattended.

I have this problem with my data drive which is D:

Xp will install to that drive.
