unable to view wireless network

Panasonic / Cf 27
February 8, 2009 at 06:52:04
Specs: Windows XP, PII
We recently purchased a used Panasonic CF 27. I installed the pci wireless card and there is a red X over the icon. When I open the wireless connection the message I get is " no wireless networks were found". I have 2 other wireless laptops that are able to view my wireless connection as well as my neighbours. I do have service pack 3 installed on that laptop. Not sure why I can not see any wireless networks.
Thanks for any assistance.

Did you install the drivers for the card?

Exactly. You need to install the software first BEFORE you connect/install any cards.

To have to beg you to see
We’re not all the same
What a shame" - Shinedown

The software was installed, I can see the device in device manager and it says that this device is working properly. Not sure why I can't see any networks (ours or our neighbours?)

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am experiencing the exact same problem on a friend's computer. It see the wireless card and says that it is working properly, but no wireless networks are available. even though on a separate computer I can see loads of networks and connect to some.
