unable to start up windows even in

please help me i am having problems starting up windows.I previously didn't have these problems before.This probelm started happening about three days after I installed windows xp.When i first installed it the software was working fine.after i shut it off manuely without letting it shutoff by itself then it never started back up again.It just gave me this error message.windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \windows.0\system34\config\system how do i get it back online
