Sorry if this gets posted twice!
I am trying to share a hp deskjet 3820 on my dell wireless network. I was able to share it fine on both computers till I upgrade the desktop to WP home edition OS. Before that the laptop and desktop where both using Windows me. I am able to share files and I do have the printer selected as shared on the desktop. When I go to the laptop I go to the add printer and select network then fine the printer then it wants me to instert the disk with the drivers on it when I do that it cann't find the drivers.
Could it be that I seem to only be able to install the printer on the desktop using the usb port because that is the only file it will use on the disk and on the laptop the printer if I use it as a local one will only install on the parrell port?Shirley

"insert the disk with the drivers on it when I do that it can't find the drivers"
Do you mean that it doesn't find the drivers on the CD disk even when you browse to the CD and (if appropriate) the directory on which has the XP drivers?

Yes I know the drivers are on the disk because I can use the same disk to install the printer on either machine as a local printer.
the laptop wants it setup on LPT 1 and the desktop wants it setup as a USB port when I upgrade to XP home before that the desktop was also setup on LPT 1. The desktop will not setup it up local on LPT 1 now and the laptop will not setup local on USB port.
