I am unable to play movies of *.wmv format. I am getting error saying that this format is not supported by the media player. Online movies as well, some movies play but some will not play at all which use the media player. I am unable to find why it is not able to its own files. Help please.

I have WMP11. I went to add/remove programs to remove it. I hit remove but it will not get rolled back or uninstalled. Is there any other way to uninstall WMP completely?
