hello,
I repaied an xp computer sitting on a domain, After the OS repair, i logged on to a user account on the domain (that initially had an profile on the computer)
when i start outlook it gives the error unable to open your default mail folders . if i click 'ok', which is the only option i get, outlook closes.
i have got mails in the outlook account i need to access.
can anybody help?

Sounds like it may have created a new profile on the computer which has no pst file in it. Check the hard drive and see if there are two user accounts with the same name but one may have 001 after the name (or something like that). Copy the outlook.pst from the old profile into the new profile then open Outlook. Now it will have a PST to open.
