Unable to open partition

Hello,
I just got done partitioning(messing up) my hd with partition magic. I did set a linux partition at the end of it along with an ntfs one. After i was done and restarted, i get an error that the comp was unable to open the partition. I have used the xp cd and have reformatted the drive into one partition, and have tried with more than one partition. The install goes as planned, but when it restarts i get nothing on the screen.
