Unable to open files

Specs: Windows XP
When I try to open a file or go to a page on the internet, my computer acts like the back button is stuck, opens the file or page then closes back to the original again.

You should optimize internet explorer.
Open Internet explorer > "Tools" > Internet option.

In general tab, Delete all files, browsing history, clear history.
In security tab, select as default.
In content tab, Clear SSL.
In advanced tab, click on restore default.
And also unchecked / remove tick mark from the list " Enable third party browsing extension."

Now you can check..
