Hi I bought a Dlink DWL-G650 Revision B2 PCMCIA card. I fallow the instructions to install the card. And I keep getting this message about the hardware cannot be install.

I install and uninstall the dlink utility and still the I cannot get the driver to load. I also went during the new hardware setup wizard to locate the driver folder manually for the Dlink DWL-G650 Revision B2 PCMCIA card and still I cannot install the driver. I’m 100% that I have the latest driver for the Dlink DWL-G650 Revision B2 PCMCIA card and is for windows XP Pro SP2. In addition I booted XP in safe mode and uninstall the unwhanted and hidden network drivers.

Computer Specs:
-Dell Latitude C610 Laptop
-1024Mb ram
-40Gb HDD
-DVD/cd Drive
-Windows xp professional sp2
- 1 integrated Lan Adapter[3Com 3c920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller (3c905-tx compatible)]

Hello.

What does your PCMCIA card do ? What is it for ?

Anyway, when you insert the PCMCIA card in, you should wait a couple of seconds for Windows to load the PCMCIA controller drivers first.

After this, you get a pop-up baloon message saying your card is working. Then you should install the drivers for whatever your PCMCIA card is doing.

If this is not what you are seeing, then either your PCMCIA controller is not working or the drivers for it are damaged.

You can look at the device manager for PCMCIA controller status. Please make sure that it is functional.

I always if possible do not use the manufacturers software, insert the Driver CD ignore the driver install, insert the card, wait for the "found new hardware wizard" and let XP install automatically..

what kind of an advice is that??? 'do not use the manufacturers software'

well, i won't vent over the advantages of using the manufacturers original software rather than some 3rd party generic drivers (and that is exactly what ms windows xp drivers are)

as for the actual problem ... question: why do you want to use an additional wirelss pcmcia card when you have a built-in wireless lan adapter? yes, there are chances for a conflict.

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

Usually you run into irq conflicts. See what is says in hardware. You might have to edit some settings.

I assume that your pc card is 32 bit and it fully working and has been fully tested with another 32 bit card.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

I guess you rig is not ACPI compliant.
