Recently I was trying to install age of empires 3 onto my computer, I got an error during the installation but it installed it anyway. When I tried to load the game it came up that it was missing a file, a file which is very similar to those in the directxc folder.
So I tried to install directxc onto the computer and got an error saying that "a cabinet file necessary for the installation cannot be trusted"
Anyone know of a way to get directxc installed onto the computer?
I currently have directxb.
cheers!

Have you tried logging in as Admin and reinstalling the software? It seems as if that's where the problem lies; the failed install.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

To resolve this, I suggest you re-register the files below.
Softpub.dll
Wintrust.dll
Initpki.dll
Dssenh.dll
Rsaenh.dll
Gpkcsp.dll
Sccbase.dll
Slbcsp.dll
Mssip32.dll
Cryptdlg.dll0. Click Start >> Run.
1. In the Open box, type cmd & click OK.
2. At the command prompt, type regsvr32 softpub.dll & press ENTER.
3. Click OK when you receive the message that DllRegisterServer in Softpub.dll succeeded.
4. Repeat steps 0 through 3 for the remaining files namely Wintrust.dll, Initpki.dll, Dssenh.dll, Rsaenh.dll, Gpkcsp.dll, Sccbase.dll, Slbcsp.dll, Mssip32.dll & Cryptdlg.dll.
5. Type exit & press ENTER to quit Command Prompt.
Goodluck.
