I need some real expert help here. Built new system. All running fine. A week later ran into a problem with game(MOHPA), and decided to upgrade bios. All fine game still not running. I decide fresh installWinxp, so as to have no other programs on drive, figuring game has conflicts. Now after reformat, too many files cannot be copied to drive during setup. Could new bios upgrade affect fresh install. Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo bios was v1012 went to v1013. Now i cant even get back to oiginil version.

I doubt the bios change would affect windows install, are you sure there aren't any cracks on your cd? :)

What you need to do is wipe the drive clean. You can use a third party program to do this if you like or you can save money and do it yourself. I just use a W98 boot disk to format and check disk for errors. I run format twice and then let xp reformat during setup and it seems to wipe it clean enough to reinstall.

Problem solved. It was one of my 512 memory modules. Removed one and fresh install ran perfect. I actually found this solution on this site. Thanks.
