When I try to do a defrag Diskeeper tell me it is unable to do it as a chkdsk is scheduled and will run on nect bootup. Trouble is even after rebooting and have chkdsk run I am still unable to do a defrag as I get the same message.

I presume you are using the defragger in winxp? If so, I had the same problem and d/l'd diskeeper the trial version. The defragging worked then and it took quite awhile on the first scan, but then the next scans went pretty fast. I ended up buying diskeeper and now have it set to 'set it and forget it' because I do alot of movie editing.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Hey Don't know if this will work but found it using the search tool on the top of this page
It is telling you that defrag has detected an error on the HD. Suggest reboot and select recovery console-logon to windows and type CHKDSK /R. R assumes F plus fix. Let it run. About 30 minutes. then type exit, it will reboot. Then run defrag.
Me ,I suggest right clicking on your C: drive/properties/tools/error checking. Make sure to tick fix and check for everything.
