I am unable to find the desktop icons nad task bar on my desktop as my screen turns blank with desktop wallpaper appearing only while booting normally.

FATEMA ABBAS, several things come to mind. First, sure you had a VIRUS? Possible it was a TROJAN? The two are very similar, but different. In either case, did you disable 'restore' prior to scanning. If the answer to either query is 'no', post back (new post) for more. The suggested 'fix' is kinda long and I won't bother unless it's needed.
