unable to access second hard drive

im using second HD for media storage and after moving all of my music to it now whenever i try to access it the computer says parameter is incorect or HD is not formatted, it shows up when i open MY COMPUTER but doesnt show the size of the drive i know its formatted because ive been using it for over a year. can any one help

sorry my mistake 384 RAM w/ an AMD Duron 995 MHZ processor with windows XP home edition 2002 service pack one. also noticed that when i try system restore it says that the HD is offline. i double checked all the connections and they'r good.

no i bought it at a computer shop and when i installed it i formatted it and it has worked great as a storage drive for the last year. im thinking that maybe i moved to much data to it at once, over 2 gigs, but im not very knowledgeable in that area. also ran the Belarc advisor and it shows up there
