I recently upgraded from a Fujitsu 30Gb hdd to a seagate 40Gb hdd, since then i get "unmountable boot volume" when i try to install xp. All my BIOS settings have remained the same, the only difference is the drive itself.
Anyone else having trouble with Seagate or 40Gb drives?
Any help would be great???

Wow I had this same error just tonight. Easy fix, at least for me.

Boot from disc into the command prompt (you may have to use a 98 boot disc). At the prompt, type "fixboot" and the program will scan the boot sector of your disc. If it is corrupt (which it should be, with that message. Same message I got. This was my fix), then the program will rewrite the boot information and it should be okay...
