I got annoyed reading about all the best gaming proccessors on the net so im asking the question myself.

Im building a new gaming pc, and im going no holds barn on anything, alot of equiptment im planing on getting hasn't even came out yet, but is said to be extreme overclocking. But anyway i need a cpu for my pc, it has to be fast, atleast 3ghz, ive been looking at Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775, the only thing bad about it is the $2500 price tag on it! But does anyone know if there is a cpu better than that one, price doesn't matter and i can getting parts to fit round it.

any suggestions will be much appreciated, thanks

If money is really no object then this would be about the best ultra gamer there is:

Look into purchasing the Skulltrail Dual socket mobo and use two 45nm Quad core processors running at 3.4GHz.

FSB.........1600MHz.
cache.......2 x 12MB
Graphics....2 x Geforce 8800 GTX SLI
Ram.........2 x 2GB DDR2- 800 FBDIMM
Pick your own harddrive....

This is an extreme high end motherboard that is really designed as a server board and it has to use the FB Dimm memory which is a tad bit slower but the best stable memory for Over clocking there is.

There is nothing cheap here....and you would need atleast a 1000w power supply just to start it up! Then some extreme liquid cooling to keep it cool....

This is predicted to blow the doors off any bench marks all ready set by any other set ups.

...and what are you going to do six months from now when your uber machine is no longer cutting edge & only worth about half what you paid for it - huh?

In computing, the more you spend on your machine, the more diminishing your return on the equipment. And I'm sure price does matter too; otherwise, you won't be here doing this yourself. You would have asked your assistant to simply pickup one of these & be done with it.

So, let try this request again - shall we? Tell us what type of games you are into & what type of machine you've got at the moment & what your preferences are Intel; AMD & so on & so forth.

Hi,

You could always go here :-

http://www.alienware.com/

They will build it for you and make sure it works. Comes with a warranty and support for the future. Oh and they look rather impressive. Beauty is that you can upgrade the system in the future as well when the new; more demanding games arrive.

thanks for your interest, to start with, im not planning on slling my pc in a hurry, and money isn't a issue, i won't to built a mean computer thats all, i have all knoweledge needed to build one, including overclocking and liquid cooling.

And to answer all your questions

the motherboard is succed:
EVGA nForce 680i SLI Black Pearl, im looking at $1000 usd for that

the video card
EVGA e-GeForce 8800Ultra Black Pearl 768MB
i think that'll be round $900usd

all will be liquid cooling, built in with a thermaltake armor vh600lbws, also a 1500w psu

im not sure whats the best ram, 4gbs will be eenough i guess, whats the best? also, i just want to know whats the fastest processor, overclockable, the fastest ive seen is the Intel Xeon X5470 (3.33 GHz) Quad Core Oem, is there anything better out there
